1 Description American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Acute Care Telemetry position in Highlands, NC, requiring 2+ years of experience and geriatric or inpatient rehab (swing bed) experience. Details Night shift position, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM, 3x12-hour shifts per week 24-bed Acute Care unit within a hospital setting Patient population includes geriatric and swing bed (inpatient rehab) patients Patient ratios of 6-7:1 Unit staffing does not include a HUC, tech, or extra RN when no tech is available Standard med/surg equipment used on the unit Charting is performed in Cerner Variable shifts with rare floating requirements Serves an affluent community with a concierge-level standard of patient care expected Requirements Active NC or compact RN license required Current BLS certification required (AHA or ARC accepted); certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start ACLS required; CPI preferred NIH Stroke Scale certification required for Telemetry RNs Minimum 2 years of recent acute care or telemetry nursing experience Experience with geriatric patients or inpatient rehab/swing bed patients required Wound care skills required Cerner EMR experience preferred US SSN and date of birth required for consideration No gaps in work history of 90 days or more in the past 12 months Additional Information Provides acute care telemetry nursing with an emphasis on geriatric and swing bed patient populations Wound care is an advanced skill utilized on this unit Minor procedures are performed on the unit Required scrub colors: all navy, or navy top with white bottoms One professional reference required (two required if licensed in Florida or Missouri) Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not accepted The unit is described as having an excellent culture and strong teamwork; vacancies exist due to regional recruiting challenges, not unit issues
