Per Diem Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients transitioning from intensive care units or acute hospital settings, ensuring safety and comfort. Monitor vital signs, administer medications, and manage IV infusions with precision and adherence to protocols. Conduct detailed patient assessments, including physical examinations and physiological evaluations, to inform treatment plans. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care strategies aligned with patient needs. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner to document patient information accurately and efficiently. Assist with complex procedures including suturing, catheterization, tube feeding, and ventilator management when necessary. Educate patients and their families on post-discharge care, medication administration, and symptom management to promote recovery at home. Requirements Current RN license and good standing with the State Board of Nursing. Current BLS from the American Heart Association (be sure to include the AHA logo and QR Code). Current ACLS certification. Current NIHSS may be required prior to first shift. Minimum of 2 years full-time experience as an SDU RN within the last year. Strong ability to assess, plan, coordinate, evaluate and delegate the delivery of skilled patient care, as well as demonstrate critical thinking, and consistency in following established processes. Must have strong cardiac rhythm interpretation skills, as well as assessment skills relating to a variety of conditions/diagnoses. Strong familiarity with titration of common drips following facility protocols, and current ACLS guidelines. Strong experience with managing cardiac, stroke, and other complex/higher acuity patients.
