Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive patient care across various settings, including acute care, outpatient clinics, long-term care, and community health environments. Your expertise will ensure patients receive safe, effective, and personalized nursing services while adhering to the highest standards of medical practice and safety protocols. Responsibilities Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history documentation using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks. Administer medications via injection, IV infusion, catheterization, or other methods following aseptic technique and HIPAA regulations to ensure patient safety and comfort. Conduct specialized procedures such as suturing, tube feeding management, ostomy care, dialysis assistance, and wound care in accordance with clinical guidelines. Assist with diagnostic evaluations including laboratory specimen collection/processing, radiology procedures like mammography or sonography, and diagnostic coding using
ICD-9/ICD-10
standards. Manage acute pain and chronic disease conditions across diverse patient populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, behavioral health patients, and individuals with developmental disabilities. Provide education on health coaching topics such as medication management, nutrition, family planning, or post-discharge instructions to promote patient engagement and compliance. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in various settings such as hospitals (including Level I & II trauma centers), outpatient clinics, assisted living facilities, hospice & palliative care units, or home & community care environments. Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain accurate medical documentation for legal and billing purposes. Participate in discharge planning processes and case management activities to facilitate smooth transitions of care. Respond effectively to triage situations in urgent care or emergency room settings while demonstrating proficiency in airway management and critical care procedures. Qualifications Valid RN license in accordance with state licensing requirements. Proven experience in diverse clinical environments such as hospital medicine, ICU (Intensive Care Unit), emergency medicine, labor & delivery (L&D), neonatal intensive care (NICU), or outpatient clinics. Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth or similar platforms. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy & physiology principles, ICD coding standards (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding where applicable. Experience performing advanced nursing procedures such as IV insertion/infusion therapy, phlebotomy, sterile processing techniques like suturing or dressing changes. Familiarity with specialty areas including cardiology (cardiac catheterization), ophthalmology (including CT imaging), infectious disease management or trauma medicine is highly desirable. Ability to work effectively with diverse populations including children (pediatrics), seniors (geriatrics), individuals with disabilities or memory care needs. Excellent communication skills for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration; ability to adapt quickly in fast-paced environments such as trauma centers or urgent care facilities.
