What We Offer Wound Nurse (RN) Rowan Medical Center - 612 Mocksville Ave. Salisbury, North Carolina 28144
Schedule:
Monday-Friday; 8:00am-4:30pm Rowan Medical Center is seeking a compassionate and clinically skilled Wound Care Registered Nurse to join our multidisciplinary Wound Care team. In this role, you will provide specialized assessment, treatment, education, and care coordination for patients with acute and chronic wounds. Working collaboratively with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare professionals, you will develop and implement individualized treatment plans that promote healing, improve patient outcomes, and enhance quality of life. Wound Assessment & Treatment:
Conducting comprehensive assessments of wounds (measuring size, tracking healing, assessing infection) and implementing treatment plans, including cleaning and complex dressing changes.
Teaching patients and families how to manage wounds at home, prevent future injuries, manage infection risk, and handle equipment.
Documentation & Collaboration:
Maintaining accurate electronic health records, updating care plans, and collaborating with physicians, vascular specialists, and other care team members.
Diabetic Foot Care:
Performing routine foot assessments and preventive care for patients with diabetes.
Clinical Equipment Management:
Safely operating, cleaning, and managing inventory for specialized wound care equipment and supplies. What You'll Do Provides patient care to Wound Care Center patients and handles patient intake and discharge processes as assigned and according to the hospital and nursing standards May also serve as Case Manager to a group of patients as assigned.
This entails:
Performing the initial nursing assessment, communicating findings with the assigned physician, assessing the wound stage and measurements, documenting care plans, evaluating the patient' status in regards to desired outcomes, and identifying patient care situations that require intervention Participating in quality improvement initiatives, providing education to the patient or caregiver, and serving as a patient advocate in the delivery and coordination of the patient care Collaborates as needed with other healthcare providers, Wound Care Center Providers, the Program Director and the Medical Director regarding clinic and patient needs Prepares, educates and orients patients about the Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy. This includes lifting or transferring patients per local policy, getting them ready for treatment administration and answering their questions. Administers the hyperbaric oxygen therapy as prescribed by the Hyperbaric Provider to the patient. This includes monitoring and controlling the performance of the hyperbaric chamber equipment, as well as monitoring the patient(s)'responses during the session and making proper adjustments to ensure the patient's safety and the safe and effective use of the equipment. Makes appropriate data entries for daily hyperbaric treatments and wound care clinic visits and keeps complete and accurate patient records as they pertain to treatment documentation, to include photo uploading. Operates and maintains the hyperbaric chamber and other hyperbaric support oxygen systems as required Participates in the safety program activities such as assisting with safety drills

2 Year / Associate Degree, required. 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred.
Experience:
2 years, required.
Licensure/Certification:
Current RN license in appropriate state, required. Wound Certification, preferred. Additional Skills (required): Excellent oral and written communication, problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Strong interpersonal skills.
