2 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position at an acute care hospital in Spruce Pine, NC, requiring telemetry experience and a valid NC or compact RN license. Details Day shift position with hours from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM (12-hour shifts) Acute care PCU unit located on the 2nd floor of the main hospital building 25-bed inpatient unit with capacity for up to 27 patients including ED holds Patient population includes acute care and PCU-level cases requiring telemetry and continuous O2 monitoring Equipment used includes BiPAP, Vapotherm, patient lifts, Baxter pumps, and telemetry/continuous O2 monitors EMR system is Cerner Day shift staffing includes a charge nurse, 4-5 RNs, and 2-3 PCTs/HUC Rotating weekends required with scheduling flexibility Floating to the ED may be required 13-week contract Requirements Active NC or compact RN license required Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in a PCU or acute care setting Telemetry experience is required ICU experience is preferred US SSN and date of birth required for consideration One professional reference required No employment gaps of 90 days or more in the past 12 months Additional Information Wound care is among the typical procedures performed on this unit Team-oriented candidates with strong communication skills are the best fit for this unit Navy blue scrubs are required Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start date; AHA or ARC certifications are accepted
