Job Description

Countryside is currently hiring for an Infection Control and Wound Care Nurse (RN). Infection Control & Wound Care Nurse (RN)
Schedule:
Monday-Friday 8:30 A.M.-5:00 P.M.

Days General Duties & Responsibilities:
Covid:
Oversee Employee & Resident Covid Testing. Health Department Covid Reports. Other required Covid Reporting. Track employee vaccination status and supporting documents. Track resident vaccination status and supporting documents.
Infection Control:
Infection control rounds to ensure staff compliance.
Antibiotic:
Antibiotic Stewardship Infection Control Report, Antibiotic List, Infection Worksheets Wound Rounds & Treatments:
Weekly wound rounds & complete wound report. Monitor treatment supplies and supplements. Daily Follow Through (Double Check) of all Physician Orders and New Admission Orders.
Other:
Tracks and analyzes facility acquired and hospital acquired infections.
Employee:
Influenza and TB Resident:
Influenza, Pneumonia Vaccine and TB Staff Development:
oversees In-services needed regarding ADLs, Infection Control, etc. Oversee N-95 Fit testing
Supervisory Duties:
Assist floor as needed On Call Rotation Other duties as required by Director of Nursing and facility administration
Resident Rights:
Maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information including protected health information. Report known or suspected incidents of unauthorized disclosure of such information. Knock before entering a resident's room.
Working Conditions:
Works throughout the facility. Moves intermittently during working hours. Is subject to frequent interruptions. Able to safely lift and transfer residents. Able to provide toileting assistance and personal care to residents.
Specific Requirements:
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public. Must possess leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel. Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm. Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
Physical and Sensory Requirements:
Must be able to move throughout the workday. Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position. Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met. Must function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with the residents, personnel, and support agencies. Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this facility, which include a medical and physical examination. Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people within the facility.
