Purpose:
Provides care for and treats patients in medical office, as directed by Physician, Advanced Clinical Provider, Registered Nurse or supervising department manager, by performing the following duties
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Maintains patient confidentiality Work within Paramedic scope of practice Performs telephone triage as needed Function as part of an interdisciplinary team Taking complete, accurate messages from patients and relaying them to appropriate physician Use critical thinking skills in assessing patient needs and planning appropriate follow-up/intervention Documents assessment and interventions thoroughly and concisely Uses computer system efficiently and accurately Provides patient education Performs specialty procedures as trained, as well as assisting M.D. with patients in office to include but is not limited to: IV insertion and hydration therapy Administer oral and IV push medications Administer Breathing treatments Cardiac Monitoring Wound care Assist with Cardiac interventions Orthopedic care to include assessment and splinting Take thorough and accurate intake on patients Specimen Collection and processing Run lab equipment for specimens and quality control Use EMR to document assessment and treatments Always ensure patient safety and wellbeing Work within department protocols work within scope of practice always

QUALIFICATIONS
Required :
Current EMT-P Certification in good standing with
NCOEMS Preferred:
Associates degree 5+ years' experience in the field as paramedic
