Job Summary and Responsibilities Registered Nurse (RN) - Pre-Surgical Evaluation CHI St. Alexius Health - Bismarck, ND Part-Time | 56 Hours Biweekly | Day shift| No weekends & No Holidays | $12,500 Sign On Bonus! About the Role We're looking for a detail-oriented, organized RN to join our Pre-Surgical Evaluation team . In this role, you'll help patients feel informed, prepared, and confident before surgery. You'll complete pre-op assessments, review medical histories, coordinate care needs, and make sure patients are medically ready for their procedure before they ever arrive in surgery. If you're the kind of nurse who catches the little things, communicates well, and likes a structured but fast-moving environment—this role is a great fit. What You'll Do Complete pre-surgical nursing assessments and patient screenings Review medical history, medications, labs, and pre-op testing Educate patients on what to expect before surgery and answer questions Identify potential concerns and collaborate with providers to ensure safe surgical planning Coordinate with surgical teams, providers, and departments to keep care running smoothly Document assessments and patient communication accurately and efficiently Support a calm, compassionate experience for patients before surgery Job Requirements What We're Looking For RN license in ND or compact state Strong communication and critical thinking skills Organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask independently Comfortable working with patients over the phone and in clinical settings BLS certification required within orientation period Previous nursing experience preferred, especially in surgical services, pre-op, PACU, clinic, or acute care Why You'll Love This Role This position combines clinical nursing skills with patient education, coordination, and critical thinking.
