1 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week Emergency Department / MedSurg Swing position at a Critical Access Hospital, requiring ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and night shift availability including every other weekend. Details Critical Access Hospital (CAH) ER setting with MedSurg float responsibilities 2-bed ER/trauma bay environment treating traumas, strokes, STEMIs, chest pain, respiratory diagnoses, and lacerations Common drips include heparin and levophed RNs are required to independently read and interpret cardiac monitor strips Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3-4 A charge nurse is present on each shift and carries an assignment; no nurse aides, EMTs, paramedics, or sitters are on shift Charting system:
MEDITECH
12-hour night shifts (1830-0700); day shifts also available (0630-1900) Self/team scheduling model Every other weekend required Every third holiday required Float to MedSurg required 13-week contract Requirements Active ND or Compact (NLC) RN license required; pending licenses are not accepted Minimum 1 year of RN experience required Required certifications (all must be active; pending not accepted):
BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC BSN
is not required Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility Candidates may not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facility within the past year (PRN employment through outside staffing firms is acceptable) Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire Valid driver's license required Additional Information One 12-hour orientation shift provided Successful candidates demonstrate teamwork, strong communication, flexibility, the ability to work under pressure, and adaptability RTO of 7 or fewer days per 13-week contract must be disclosed upfront; additional RTO requests will not be approved No clinical involvement from the staffing agency in this placement
