1 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a combined Labor & Delivery / OB & Med-Surg position requiring active NE or compact licensure and prior L&D experience. Details Hospital-based position covering both Labor & Delivery (OB) and Med-Surg units Patient population includes obstetric patients and adult med-surg patients Evening/night shift: 5:45 PM - 6:00 AM Required to work 2 out of every 3 weekends Block scheduling is available Up to 3 shifts may be called off without penalty based on patient census 12-week contract Requirements Active NE RN license or compact RN license currently in hand Current certifications required: BLS/BCLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and ATT BSN, ADN, or Diploma from an accredited nursing program required Prior Labor & Delivery experience is required Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 40 lbs and occasionally lift over 100 lbs Additional Information Responsibilities include assessing patient needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans, administering medications, and providing patient and family education Some shifts may include serving in a Charge Nurse capacity, which involves staff assignment, performance coaching, and emergency response leadership Work environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, and occasional exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals
