PCU Job Details:
- Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM
- Every other weekend requirement
- Minimum of 2 holidays required during contract timeframe
- Patient ratios of 1:4-5 for both day and night shifts
- Required certifications:
BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
- Must be competent in arterial lines
- Required to titrate drips including Heparin, Nitro, Dopamine, Cardizem, Amiodarone, and insulin
- Must read and interpret telemetry strips
- Floating required to MedSurg or ICU to take PCU acuity patients
- Dress code: Navy blue scrubs
- One day of unit-specific orientation
- Pass/fail exam on Wednesdays during orientation with 90% passing score required
- Must be able to respond within 30 minutes if called back from on-call status
- Care for adults with cardiac med/surg, dialysis, cancer diagnosis, vascular, sepsis, adult respiratory, stroke, post stent, post pacer placement, and renal failure conditions
- Work with overhead lifts, portable lifts, vein finders, and bladder scanners
- Must be a team player with flexibility, adaptability, and strong communication skills
- Experience with diverse cultural populations including Hispanic and Somalian patients
- Chart in EPIC system
- Must live more than 50 miles from facility location
- Driver's license required at submittal
- Artificial nails prohibited in patient care areas
