LPN LONG TERM CARE
Shift:

Hours Nights Shift Details:
6:00 PM - 6:00 AM 36 hours/week. (3
  • 12) 13-week contract Monitor and assess maternal and fetal vital signs during labor and delivery, utilizing advanced assessment techniques.
Administer medications, including pain management options such as epidurals, and perform procedures like suturing with aseptic technique. Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, and neonatal teams to coordinate comprehensive care plans. Provide education and emotional support to patients and families throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery. Maintain accurate medical documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Assist with emergency situations including Level I trauma or Level II trauma center scenarios, utilizing critical care experience when necessary. Support neonatal resuscitation efforts, including the use of ventilators or other specialized equipment for newborn stabilization. Ensure infection control protocols are strictly followed during all procedures to promote patient safety. Qualifications Valid RN license with current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP). Proven experience in labor and delivery nursing within a hospital setting; experience in Level I or Level II trauma centers preferred. Familiarity with obstetric procedures such as IV infusion, catheterization, and sterile dressing changes. Knowledge of medical terminology related to obstetrics, neonatology, and acute pain management techniques. Ability to perform physical examinations, monitor vital signs, and conduct patient assessments accurately. Experience working with electronic health records systems like Epic or Cerner; proficiency in ICD coding is advantageous. Strong communication skills with the ability to provide clear patient education and collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams. Additional experience in areas such as ICU nursing, emergency medicine, or working with individuals with disabilities is beneficial for this role.
