Job Description

Registered Nurse - Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) Position Summary We are seeking a skilled and adaptable Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Ambulatory Surgery Center team. This role is responsible for providing high-quality patient care throughout the perioperative process, including pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative phases of care. The RN will also assist with patient coordination duties such as obtaining health histories and physicals, pre-op phone calls, instrument sterilization oversight, and ensuring compliance with ASC policies and safety standards. The ideal candidate is organized, team-oriented, patient-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced surgical environment. Essential ResponsibilitiesClinical Duties Provide nursing care in the pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-anesthesia recovery phases Perform patient assessments, admissions, and discharge education Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and ASC protocols Assist physicians and anesthesia providers during procedures as needed Recognize and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition Pre-Operative Coordination Conduct pre-operative phone calls with patients to review instructions, medications, medical history, and procedure preparation Collect and verify required H&Ps, consents, lab work, and other pre-op documentation Ensure patient charts are complete and compliant prior to surgery Sterile Processing & Compliance Assist with cleaning, sterilization, and proper storage of surgical instruments and equipment Maintain infection prevention and sterilization standards in accordance with OSHA, CMS, AAAHC/Joint Commission, and ASC policies Monitor sterile supplies and notify leadership of inventory needs Documentation & Communication Accurately document patient care in the electronic medical record Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and clinical staff Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives Qualifications Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Nebraska BLS certification required ACLS certification preferred or required within 1 year Minimum [1-2] years of nursing experience preferred Previous ASC, OR, PACU, or procedural experience strongly preferred Knowledge of sterile technique and infection prevention practices Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to lift and move patients and equipment as needed Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment Benefits Competitive pay PTO and holiday pay Health insurance Retirement plan options Monday-Friday schedule with no weekends/holidays
Pay:
$38.00 - $43.00 per hour
