Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical Specialties unit position requiring recent Level 1 or comparable Level 2 Trauma experience and a NH or compact RN license. Details

• Medical Specialties unit in a hospital setting, with two sub-units (36-bed and 25-bed)
• Primarily medical (rather than surgical) patient population with acute and chronic conditions including sepsis, infectious processes, AKI/CKD (hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis), diabetes, GI issues, fluid/electrolyte imbalances, alcohol withdrawal, liver disease, substance misuse, endocarditis, heart disease, skin/wound issues, and acute/chronic respiratory illnesses (COPD, influenza, pneumonia, Cystic Fibrosis) • Nationally recognized Cystic Fibrosis center — adult CF patients requiring admission are cared for in this unit • Day/Night rotation schedule • 48 hours per week • 13-week contract Additional Information Help for Additional Information.

Requirements

• Active NH or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Recent Level 1 or comparable Level 2 Trauma experience within the last 2 years required
• Experience with chest tubes, NG/feeding tubes, and tracheostomies/laryngectomies required
• Experience managing IV drips including Diltiazem, heparin, Lasix, insulin, and amiodarone required
• Experience with central line care, maintenance, and blood draws required
• Experience with complex wound management required
• Telemetry experience required
• Experience with lines, tubes, and drains for post-surgical patients required
• 2 manager references required for consideration Additional Information
