2 Description American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Interventional Cardiac Unit (IVCU) position requiring at least 2 years of hospital experience, telemetry proficiency, and an active NH or compact RN license. Details 18-bed Interventional Cardiac Unit (IVCU) at a STEMI-designated, Stroke Center, and Level II Trauma Center hospital Cardiac procedure patient population including
STEMI, NSTEMI, PCI
(groin and radial access), post-cath lab care, chest pain rule-out, CHF, and COPD Advanced procedures and management include chest tubes, high-flow oxygen, BiPAP, pericardiocentesis, thoracentesis, peritoneal dialysis, tracheostomies, pacemakers, and CIWA protocol Patient ratio of 4:1; unit staffing includes 5 RN teams with a charge nurse carrying 2 patients, 2 LNAs, and a unit clerk Equipment includes IV pumps, Sara Steadys, high-flow devices, BiPAP, Kangaroo pumps, Hoyer lift, and bladder scanner Charting system: Meditech Expanse Night shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week Every other weekend required, scheduled in 4-week blocks Floating order: travelers first, followed by PRN, part-time core, and full-time core staff 13-week contract Requirements Active NH or compact RN license required Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Minimum 2 years of recent hospital experience required Proficiency in telemetry required US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration One professional reference required (two required for candidates from Florida or Missouri) No employment gaps of 90 days or more in the past 12 months Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible Additional Information Responsibilities include post-operative and post-procedural cardiac nursing care with bedside shift rounds, handoff communication, and patient connection practices The IVCU has been recognized as a Unit of Distinction Professional attire (scrubs or professional garb) required Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start date; AHA or ARC certifications accepted
