Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care to mothers and newborns, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being. Monitor vital signs, assess patient conditions, and report any concerns to the healthcare team. Assist with labor and delivery procedures, offering support and guidance to mothers. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and comfort. Educate patients and their families on post-partum care, breastfeeding, and newborn care practices. Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments and interventions. Promote a positive and supportive environment for mothers and their families during the birthing process. Attend educational sessions and training programs to enhance nursing skills and knowledge. Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from an accredited nursing program. Current RN license to practice in the state of New Jersey. Successful completion of an accredited nursing program within the last 12 months. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred but not mandatory. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and their families. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a commitment to patient-centered care. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
