Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse for our Pre-Op/Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in critical care nursing and demonstrate exceptional patient care skills. As a Pre-Op/PACU nurse, you will be responsible for admitting patients, IV start, monitoring patients recovering from anesthesia, ensuring their safety and comfort during the recovery process. This role requires effective communication with patients, families, and the healthcare team to provide high-quality care in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Monitor patients' vital signs and overall condition pre/post-anesthesia. Administer medications as prescribed and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide comprehensive care for patients recovering from surgical procedures. Collaborate with surgical teams to facilitate smooth transitions from surgery to recovery. Educate patients and their families about post-operative care and recovery expectations. Document patient information accurately in health records Assist in the management of infectious disease care protocols as necessary. Participate in critical care transport when required, ensuring patient safety during transfers. Maintain a clean and organized work environment adhering to hospital standards. Skills Proficient in medication administration and understanding of pharmacology. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy. Familiarity with practices related to nursing documentation. Strong critical thinking skills essential for managing complex patient needs. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
