Duties Conduct thorough health assessments and monitor student vital signs to identify potential health issues promptly. Administer medications, injections, and IV insertions following strict safety protocols and medical guidelines. Respond swiftly to medical emergencies, including trauma or acute illness, utilizing emergency medicine skills gained from Level II trauma center experience. Maintain accurate and detailed medical documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide health education to students and staff on topics such as hygiene, nutrition, infectious disease prevention, and injury prevention. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and healthcare providers to develop individualized health plans for students with special needs or chronic conditions. Manage clinic supplies, ensure proper sterilization procedures are followed in accordance with hospital medicine standards, and oversee infection control protocols. Skills Proven experience in emergency medicine, hospital medicine, or Level I Trauma Center settings with a focus on trauma response and patient assessment. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and patient care techniques essential for school health services. Skilled in IV insertion, venipuncture, medication administration, and basic life support (BLS). Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems and EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems for accurate documentation of medical records. Experience working in outpatient clinics or urgent care environments with an understanding of outpatient care workflows. Ability to perform patient assessment quickly and accurately in high-pressure situations typical of emergency room settings. Excellent communication skills to effectively educate students about health practices and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
