In this vital role, you will provide immediate medical attention, manage health emergencies, and support the overall safety of our school community. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your diverse nursing skills in a fast-paced, supportive environment dedicated to fostering student success and health. Responsibilities Deliver high-quality nursing care to students and staff, including assessment of health conditions and emergency response. Administer medications, injections, and treatments following established protocols while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other privacy regulations. Conduct vital signs assessments, venipuncture, IV insertions, and other medical procedures with precision and professionalism. Maintain accurate medical documentation within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, ensuring all records are complete and up-to-date. Collaborate with school personnel to develop individualized health plans for students with special needs or chronic conditions. Respond promptly to urgent health situations such as injuries or illnesses, coordinating care with emergency services when necessary. Monitor infectious disease control measures and implement protocols to prevent outbreaks within the school environment. Qualifications Valid nursing license with current certification; experience in Level II trauma centers or hospital medicine is highly desirable. Proven experience in emergency medicine, urgent care, or emergency room settings; familiarity with Level I Trauma Center procedures is a plus. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and patient assessment techniques. Skilled in IV insertion, venipuncture, medication administration, and basic life support (BLS). Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems for accurate medical recordkeeping; experience with medical documentation is essential. Previous school nursing experience or related outpatient/clinic experience is preferred; candidates with Geriatrics or PICU background are encouraged to apply. Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining a compassionate approach to student care.
