We opened our doors to 66 6th grade students in 2023 in Jersey City, NJ, and we will continue adding one grade each year until we are a full 6th-12th grade school. We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and student-centered School Nurse to support the health and wellness of our school community. The School Nurse plays a critical role in ensuring students' basic health needs are met so they can fully engage in learning and thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Job Description As the School Nurse at Kindle Education, you will ensure the health and well-being of our students while fostering a safe and inclusive environment. Your responsibilities will include direct care, health education, and the management of student health records, ensuring our students are healthy, focused, and ready to learn. Below is an overview of key responsibilities for this role:
Direct Care:
Provide first aid, manage chronic conditions, administer medication, and respond to medical emergencies during the school day.
Health Education:
Promote wellness by teaching students and staff about healthy habits, hygiene, and disease prevention.
Health Records Management:
Maintain accurate and confidential student health records, ensuring compliance with state and federal health regulations.
Collaboration:
Work closely with school leadership, faculty, and families to provide individualized care and health plans as needed.
Compliance and Reporting:
Ensure compliance with all state-mandated health screenings, immunization requirements, and other relevant regulations. Skills Strong knowledge of physiology and medical terminology to effectively assess student health conditions. Experience in a clinical setting with a focus on urgent care or emergency medicine. Ability to accurately document medical information and maintain organized health records. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with students, parents, and staff members. Strong problem-solving skills to address immediate health concerns in a school environment. Familiarity with outpatient care processes to assist students in accessing necessary healthcare services.
