Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Emergency Department (ED). The RN will provide comprehensive emergency nursing care to patients with acute illnesses and injuries, ensuring prompt assessment, stabilization, and treatment. This role demands a proactive approach to patient care, utilizing advanced clinical skills and critical thinking to support patient recovery in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in emergency medicine, critical care, and trauma settings, demonstrating a commitment to delivering high-quality, compassionate care. Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews to determine urgency and prioritize care. Administer medications, including IV infusions and injections, following prescribed protocols while monitoring for adverse reactions. Manage airway patency and ventilator support for critically ill patients requiring respiratory assistance. Perform advanced procedures such as suturing, catheterization (including cardiac and urinary), and sterile dressing changes with precision. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans aligned with hospital standards such as NCQA (National Committee for Quality Assurance) standards. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation of patient encounters, treatments, and progress notes. Provide patient education on discharge instructions, medication management, and follow-up care tailored to diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, and individuals with developmental disabilities. Participate in triage processes to prioritize incoming cases based on severity using established protocols. Maintain infection control practices through aseptic techniques and proper specimen collection procedures. Support emergency response efforts during trauma or mass casualty incidents in a Level I or Level II trauma center environment. Experience Proven experience as a Registered Nurse in emergency medicine or critical care settings; experience in Level I or Level II trauma centers preferred. Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology related to acute pain management, trauma medicine, infectious disease care, and complex patient assessment. Familiarity with advanced procedures including tube feeding management, dialysis support, ostomy care, and use of ventilators. Experience working with diverse patient populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, behavioral health patients, and individuals with disabilities. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations ensuring confidentiality of medical records. Ability to perform under pressure in fast-paced environments while maintaining high standards of patient safety and care quality.
