Registered Nurse (RN) - Progressive Care/Telemetry (Registry) Travelers Accepted beyond 50 miles.
Shift:
Nights, 7:00 PM - 7:00
AM Schedule:
36 hours per week (3 x 12-hour shifts)

Approximately 52 weeks

07/14/2026 Position Summary The Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive nursing care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients requiring progressive care and telemetry monitoring. The RN is responsible for patient assessment, care planning, implementation of nursing interventions, patient and family education, interdisciplinary collaboration, cardiac monitoring, and discharge planning while ensuring compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Collect and document health history information from patients, families, significant others, and previous medical records. Complete admission assessments within established timeframes, including Braden Scale assessments and identification of consult needs. Continually reassess patients' developmental, physiological, psychosocial, environmental, educational, self-care, and discharge planning needs. Develop, implement, and update individualized, age-appropriate plans of care in collaboration with patients, families, and caregivers. Establish realistic patient outcomes and document interventions designed to achieve those goals. Prioritize, coordinate, delegate, and deliver patient care using an interdisciplinary approach. Perform patient care activities based on changing clinical priorities and patient conditions. Document patient responses to interventions, medications, treatments, and educational activities accurately and in a timely manner. Maintain compliance with applicable policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and documentation standards. Assess learning needs and barriers to education for patients and families. Provide patient and family education using age-appropriate teaching strategies and resources. Initiate discharge planning upon admission and participate in ongoing discharge preparation throughout hospitalization. Collaborate in interdisciplinary patient care meetings to support safe and effective transitions of care. Transcribe and process physician orders accurately and promptly. Clarify incomplete, unclear, or illegible orders prior to implementation. Accept and document telephone orders according to established policies, including read-back verification. Utilize electronic medical record and computerized documentation systems effectively. Perform other duties as assigned. Telemetry and Cardiac Care Responsibilities Apply telemetry leads appropriately and educate patients and families regarding cardiac monitoring. Collaborate with telemetry technicians to establish individualized arrhythmia parameters and appropriate alarm settings. Accurately interpret and document telemetry rhythm strips and communicate significant findings to the attending provider. Recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac rhythm changes and ectopy. Initiate chest pain protocols utilizing appropriate nursing interventions and document patient outcomes. Follow telemetry standing orders and established protocols. Manage patients receiving high-risk intravenous cardiac medications while monitoring for potential complications. Assist with elective cardioversion procedures as needed. Required Qualifications Active and unrestricted New Jersey Registered Nurse (RN) License Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification Minimum 1-2 years of Cardiac/Telemetry nursing experience Minimum 1-2 years of Acute Care nursing experience Demonstrated experience with basic dysrhythmia interpretation Preferred Qualifications Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) certification Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred, or current enrollment in a BSN program
Pay:
