Job Description
Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Step into a rewarding contract opportunity dedicated to making a meaningful impact on the well-being of students. This assignment is perfect for an RN with school nursing expertise who enjoys working with young learners. Your focus will be supporting a 3-year-old student requiring specialized care, including NG tube management and assistance as they are non-ambulatory. The role is onsite only, based near South Amboy, NJ, and covers over 30 hours per week from June 1 through June 26, 2026. There may also be occasions where accompanying the student during bussing is necessary.
Key Qualifications:
Active RN license in New Jersey Previous school nursing experience strongly preferred Proficiency in NG tube management Comfortable providing care for non-ambulatory children Experience supporting preschool-aged students is a plus Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with school staff and families CPR certification and updated immunizations requiredRole Responsibilities:
Deliver direct medical care and monitoring for a single pediatric student throughout the school day Manage the student's NG tube according to individual care plans and medical protocols Assist with mobility, transfers, and ensure safety for non-ambulatory needs Maintain clear and accurate documentation related to the student's health and interventions Respond promptly to any medical issues and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team Support the student during transportation, when required This is a chance to bring your nursing expertise to a setting where each day truly counts.
