Job Description

Category Schools - RN Nurse Job Type Contract Step into a vital role supporting students' health and well-being in an engaging elementary school environment. This full-time contract opportunity is perfect for a skilled Registered Nurse who enjoys making a difference in the lives of young learners and appreciates an independent, yet supportive, setting. You'll be the lead healthcare professional on campus, providing essential health services, first aid, and medication administration to elementary students and staff from September 3, 2026, through June 23, 2026. Rely on your knowledge, resourcefulness, and ability to work autonomously, while knowing that a collaborative advisory team is available for support when needed.
Qualifications:
Current NJ Registered Nurse (RN) or Certified School Nurse (CSN) license Proven experience as a school nurse, ideally in an elementary setting Comfortable being the sole healthcare provider in the building Familiarity with the Genesis charting system strongly preferred Outstanding organizational and communication skills Ability to respond calmly and efficiently in urgent situations
Responsibilities:
Deliver comprehensive health services and care for students and staff throughout the school day Maintain accurate health records, manage immunizations, and monitor health plans, using the Genesis system Administer medications per physician's orders and handle emergency care as needed Collaborate with educators, parents, and district advisory staff to support student health needs Conduct health screenings and promote wellness education Take advantage of weekly pay and access to healthcare benefits while making a daily impact in the school community.
