Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Position Overview A leading acute care hospital in Teaneck, New Jersey is seeking experienced Nurse Practitioners (NPs) to support its Intensive Care Unit (ICU). This per diem opportunity offers flexible overnight scheduling in a high-acuity critical care environment. This role is best suited for advanced practice providers with strong ICU and critical care experience who are comfortable managing complex patients in collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary teams. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with physicians and ICU care teams to provide comprehensive patient management Conduct daily ICU rounds alongside the collaborating physician Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests and screening procedures based on clinical assessment Evaluate patient responses to interventions, medications, and treatment changes Coordinate discharge planning with case management and care coordination teams Support clinical decision-making for critically ill patients in a high-acuity ICU setting Perform additional ICU-related duties as needed to support patient care delivery Qualifications Active New Jersey Nurse Practitioner (NP) license required Minimum of 2 years of ICU/Critical Care Nurse Practitioner experience required Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) certification preferred Board Certification in Acute Care strongly preferred Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required Valid DEA registration required Strong clinical judgment and ability to manage high-acuity ICU patients independently and collaboratively Schedule Details Per diem role 1-2 shifts per week Night shift: 7:00 PM•7:30 AM Flexible scheduling based on unit needs Why This Opportunity Competitive $100•110/hour compensation Flexible per diem scheduling Opportunity to work in a high-acuity ICU environment Collaborative physician-led care model Exposure to complex critical care patient populations Strong interdisciplinary team support What Candidates Can Expect Candidates can expect a structured ICU environment with clear clinical expectations, collaborative rounding, and strong support from physicians, nursing staff, and care coordination teams.
