3 x 12-hour shifts (36 hours/week)

Required within facility Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Behavioral Health to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in an inpatient setting.
This role involves comprehensive assessment, treatment planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for patients with behavioral health needs. The RN will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams and may float across units to support patient care operations. Key Responsibilities Perform comprehensive nursing admission assessments, identifying patient strengths, risks, and treatment needs Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans (ITP) Administer medications and treatments in accordance with established protocols Monitor and document patient responses to medications and interventions Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and care planning Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical record (EMR) documentation Review patient charts and physician orders at the start of each shift Transcribe and co-sign medication orders within required timeframes Conduct psychoeducational nursing groups as scheduled Support crisis intervention, suicide prevention, and therapeutic milieu management Follow restraint and seclusion protocols when required Educate patients and families using culturally competent approaches Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory guidelines Assist in mentoring and orienting new staff and students Maintain a safe and therapeutic patient environment Required Qualifications Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) required Active New Jersey RN License or Multistate Compact License BLS Certification (AHA) required Minimum 2 years of inpatient behavioral health experience Strong EMR documentation and computer skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Preferred Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) 3+ years of behavioral health nursing experience Float pool experience Required Skills Inpatient Behavioral Health Nursing Crisis Intervention & De-escalation Medication Administration Therapeutic Communication Suicide Risk Assessment Seclusion & Restraint Protocols Patient & Family Education EMR Documentation Multidisciplinary Team Collaboration Safe Patient Handling Patient Population Adolescents Adults Older Adults For more details reach at or Call / Text at 516-587-6677 .
