Assistant Superintendent, of Special Education & Support Programs/Principal
FUNCTION
Overall coordination of school health services. Serve as medical liaison between district nurses, central staff, public health agencies, and school physicians.
EMPLOYMENT
Terms and conditions of employment determined by executed agreement between W.N.Y. Board of Education and W.N.Y. Education Association.
EVALUATION
Performance on this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
GENERAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
(In addition to those of School Nurse) Meets regularly with all district nurses and prepares minutes of all meetings to be forwarded to the Assistant Superintendent, of Special Education & Support Programs. Participates in professional development activities and disseminates public health notices and updates to all district nurses as required by law and/or board policies. Coordinates school health services within the district. Oversees responsibilities of nursing staff. Make recommendation on their behalf to the Assistant Superintendent, of Special Education & Support Programs. All of the nurses have completed annual Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training. Performs any other such duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent, of Special Education & Support Programs/Principal.
