Pediatric Registered Nurse 1301 Cuba Avenue, Alamogordo, NM 88310 Part-time Part-time Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Pediatric Registered Nurse, where your expertise will make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and their families. This vital role involves providing compassionate, comprehensive nursing care tailored specifically to pediatric patients across various settings. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the highest standards of patient safety, comfort, and health education. Duties Deliver expert nursing care to pediatric patients in inpatient, outpatient, and community settings, including clinics and home care environments. Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and developmental evaluations tailored for children of all ages. Administer medications and injections accurately, including IV infusions and specialized treatments such as botulinum toxin therapy when applicable. Manage complex procedures such as catheterization, suturing, tube feeding, ventilator management, and sterile technique adherence. Document patient care meticulously using EMR systems like Epic or Cerner while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide education and support to families on health coaching, discharge planning, medication administration, and developmental needs. Participate in triage processes in urgent care or emergency room settings to prioritize patient needs effectively. Assist with laboratory specimen collection/processing and diagnostic evaluation to support accurate treatment plans. Qualifications Valid RN license with pediatric nursing experience or specialization in pediatrics. Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner. Experience working in diverse healthcare environments including hospital medicine, medical-surgical units, outpatient clinics, or home & community care settings. Knowledge of pediatric-specific procedures like IV insertion, venipuncture, airway management, and aseptic technique. Familiarity with advanced pediatric treatments such as neurodevelopmental assessments or neonatal ventilator management is preferred. Ability to work effectively with children of all ages and their families while demonstrating compassion and patience. Additional skills that enhance your candidacy include experience with trauma medicine, infectious disease care, hospice & palliative medicine, long-term care including assisted living or memory care facilities, occupational health practices, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia care needs.
