Responsibilities:
As a Nurse Tech II, you will support the delivery of high-quality patient care by assisting licensed nursing staff with clinical procedures, patient monitoring, documentation, and daily care activities while helping maintain a safe and efficient patient care environment. Monitors patients, collects clinical data, and documents care, observations, and test results in the medical record. Performs delegated patient care procedures, including phlebotomy, wound care, bedside testing, oxygen administration, and preparation of patients for procedures and surgery. Assists patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, feeding, ambulation, and personal hygiene. Operates patient monitoring equipment and utilizes electronic health record systems to support patient care. Assists with patient transport, specimen delivery, and the movement of supplies, equipment, and blood products as needed. Maintains unit readiness by stocking supplies, cleaning equipment, and supporting a safe, organized patient care environment. Performs basic clerical and administrative duties, including answering phones, maintaining records, and communicating information to the healthcare team. Collaborates with nurses, physicians, and other caregivers to promote quality patient outcomes and continuity of care.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of specialized training in medical-surgical patient care or other clinical specialty care required. One (1) to three (3) years of healthcare experience preferred. Completion of the PHS Non-Licensed Assistive Personnel Course or equivalent training required prior to placement in this role. Formal medical assistant, patient care technician, EMT, military medic/corpsman, or related clinical training preferred. Participates in on-the-job training and competency validation to perform assigned duties and responsibilities. We're all about well-being, starting with yours.
