Job Description
Operating Room Circulating Nurse Shift - Day shift Job Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Operating Room Circulating Nurse, where your expertise will be essential in delivering exceptional perioperative care. In this vital role, you will coordinate and support surgical procedures by ensuring a safe, sterile, and efficient environment. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will help facilitate smooth operations, uphold patient safety, and enhance overall surgical outcomes. Responsibilities Prepare the operating room by ensuring all necessary equipment, supplies, and instruments are available and functioning properly before procedures begin. Assist in maintaining strict aseptic technique throughout surgeries to prevent infection and ensure patient safety. Monitor and document patient vital signs, anesthesia levels, and other critical parameters during procedures using EHR systems. Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other perioperative staff to coordinate surgical activities and respond swiftly to any intraoperative needs or emergencies. Manage specimen collection, labeling, and processing according to hospital protocols while ensuring proper documentation for accurate diagnosis and treatment. Facilitate communication between the surgical team and other departments Oversee patient transfer into and out of the operating room, ensuring proper positioning, safety measures, and comfort during all phases of care. Requirements Minimum 1-2 years of Operating Room experience as a Circulator strongly preferred. General surgery, orthopedics, OB/GYN, endoscopy, and minor trauma experience preferred. Current RN license in NM. BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA required. Join us in making a difference through compassionate patient care!
