Cerner Key Responsibilities Serve as patient advocate throughout the perioperative process Verify patient identity, surgical site, consent, and documentation accuracy Prepare operating room with required instruments, supplies, and equipment Maintain sterile technique and enforce infection control standards Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical team Perform surgical counts (sponges, sharps, instruments) and document intraoperative events Monitor patient status and ensure safety throughout procedures Assist with patient transfer to PACU and provide handoff communication Maintain supply inventory and support efficient resource utilization Respond to emergencies and participate in on-call surgical coverage Ensure compliance with AORN standards and regulatory requirements Requirements Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state or compact) Minimum 3 years of OR Circulator experience BLS (AHA required) ACLS required (or obtained within 6 months) PALS preferred (based on service line) CNOR preferred Experience in general surgery, orthopedics, OB/GYN, or endoscopy preferred Ideal Candidate Profile Strong perioperative clinical judgment and attention to detail Comfortable working in a small or rural hospital setting Able to function independently in a fast-paced surgical environment Strong communication and coordination skills across surgical teams If you are an experienced OR Circulator looking for a travel opportunity in a Critical Access Hospital setting, this assignment may be a strong fit.
