Job Description

Responsibilities Mesilla Valley Hospital (UHS facility) is a free-standing psychiatric hospital in Las Cruces, New Mexico that provides mental health and drug & alcohol addiction services for adolescents, adults, and seniors. Mesilla Valley Hospital has been in operation since 1987, serving those in need of treatment for a variety of psychiatric and substance abuse issues. Mesilla Valley Hospital is a 120-bed facility, providing access to quality behavioral healthcare and substance abuse treatment to residents of New Mexico, West Texas and Arizona.
POSITION SUMMARY
: The A & R Coordinator is responsible for screening potential admissions and determining an appropriate level of care to recommend to the physicians. This position interfaces closely with the medical staff, fellow department heads and administration, treatment team, external case managers, managed care organizations, and also functions as a liaison with other hospital departments. Candidate must have weekend availability. Qualifications
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
: Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work or a clinically related mental health field and possess one of the following New Mexico licenses: licensed professional mental health counselor (LPC); licensed master's social worker (LMSW); licensed art therapist (LAT); or licensed mental health counselor (LMHC); licensed independent social work (LISW); licensed professional clinical mental health counselor (LPCC); or licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT). A minimum of one year of clinical experience preferred.
