Job Description

Posting Details The New Mexico Behavioral Health Institute provides care to New Mexicans across six different divisions including hospital level inpatient psychiatric care for both civil and forensic commitments, residential treatment for adolescents, outpatient care for people with behavioral health disorders, detox and residential substance use treatment, and skilled/long-term care. As the largest behavioral health complex In the state, inpatient/residential care is provided to over 250 New Mexicans every day, along with 400 outpatient clients a month. There are over 600 employees across all the divisions of NMBHI to ensure high-quality treatment and care is delivered. This posting will be used for ongoing recruitment and may close at any time. This is the advanced level of this job family where employees are assigned more advanced responsibility in an assigned work unit or in an assigned geographic area. Employees at this level will have complex assignments and a substantial degree of responsibility and independence in planning, organizing, and completing work. Employees at this level develop and present educational programs relevant to nursing practices, standard care and follow-up with evaluation of learning. This position may include completing special assignments such as quality improvement, mentoring, and surveillance of potential patient care incidents of quality indicators for individuals who may be at risk for rapid status change. How does it get done? Provides routine registered nursing care, orientation and training to nursing personnel. Completes nursing history and initial assessment on all patients admitted. May initiate discharge paperwork for planned admissions and ensure clients' belongings are collected. May review and co-sign Orders on all patients. Who are the customers? Clients of Residential Treatment Program a division within New Mexico Behavioral Health Institute. Ideal Candidate Clients of Residential Treatment Program a division within New Mexico Behavioral Health Institute. Minimum Qualification Must possess a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in New Mexico, or eligibility for such licensure in accordance with New Mexico requirements, or eligibility for a temporary license issued for employment at a specific institution in New Mexico and three (3) years of experience as it pertains to the essential duties and responsibilities of the classification. Employment Requirements Must possess a valid Drivers License Must obtain a Defensive Driving Certificate 1.
