Job Description

The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner will provide professional medical services to support the mission of the Indian Health Service (IHS) in raising the health of American Indians and Alaska Natives to the highest level. This role involves providing acute and chronic primary care, as well as urgent care services, in an outpatient setting. Location:
Pinon Health Center (PHC),
Pinon, AZ Work Schedule:
Regular hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday (40 hours per week). Core Responsibilities •
Direct Patient Care:
Interview and examine patients, review medical history, and perform or request diagnostic tests. •
Diagnosis and Treatment:
Make preliminary diagnoses, prescribe treatments, and manage acute and chronic illnesses. •
Urgent Care:
Evaluate, stabilize, and transfer patients presenting with conditions such as sepsis, myocardial infarction, fractures, and pediatric illnesses. •
Emergency Response:
Serve as a member of the "code team" during life-threatening "code blue" situations. •
Care Coordination:
Coordinate with allied health professionals (social workers, health educators) and refer patients to specialized facilities when necessary. •
Documentation:
Maintain timely and accurate electronic health records (EHR) in compliance with Joint Commission standards. Qualifications and Requirements •
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) is required. •
Licensure:
Must possess a current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license. •
Background Check:
Must undergo a character investigation in accordance with the Indian Health Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act (Public Law 101-630). •
Citizenship:
Must be a US Citizen. Physical and Administrative Requirements •
Travel/Lodging:
Government quarters may be available for rent.
