Job Description

Category Schools - RN Nurse Job Type Contract Make a positive impact in students' lives by supporting wellness and academic success in a dynamic school environment. This contract opportunity as a School Registered Nurse (RN) offers you the chance to be a trusted healthcare resource during the 2026-2027 academic year. You will be placed within the district (specific site to be determined), working onsite. Your nursing expertise will help ensure students are healthy, safe, and ready to learn each day.
Key Qualifications:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Nursing Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license from the New Mexico Board of Nursing Active Professional School Nurse License from the State of New Mexico Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with integrity Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with students, families, and staff Experience in school nursing or pediatric care is a plus
Role Responsibilities:
Carry out school health protocols, administer medications, provide first aid, and respond to student health crises Conduct thorough health assessments and maintain accurate, timely records Participate in planning, implementation, and evaluation of school health programs, ensuring adherence to state regulations Identify and address social, physical, and psychological health factors impacting student learning Act as an advocate for student health needs and rights within the school community Facilitate connections between students, families, educators, healthcare providers, and community resources Enjoy consistent, weekday hours (37.5 per week) for the full school year in a supportive and collaborative setting.
