US Highway 491 North, Shiprock, NM 87420
Duration:
6 months contract with the possibility of 4 extensions
Shift Schedule:
Regular:
Mon Fri, 7:00 AM 3:30 PM or 7:30 AM 4:00
PM On-Call:
Weekends/holidays; 15-min response required; sleep room provided on-site
Call-Back:
After hours, weekends, and holidays as needed
How Many Shifts Needed Per Month:
Approximately 4 on-call shifts per month per RN (weekend/holiday coverage rotated among nurses) Credentialing /
Onboarding Time:
6 to 8 weeks
License:
Any active, unrestricted RN license (any U.S. state, DC, Puerto Rico, or U.S. territory accepted)
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
American Heart Association Education:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
Experience Needed:
Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience required
Special Skills Needed:
OR circulating, sterile field management, pre-op assessment, IV therapy, PACU monitoring Endoscopy pre/intra/post-procedure support Ability to float to other departments as needed Basic EHR/computer skills; cultural sensitivity toward American Indian and Alaska Native populations
Responsibilities:
Perform pre-op assessment, consent/allergy/NPO verification, IV therapy, medication administration, and patient/family education in the Day Surgery/Pre-Op unit Provide circulating support in the OR for a mixed case load: endoscopy, general surgery, OB/GYN, dental, oral/facial, and podiatry; maintain sterile field and time-out compliance Deliver PACU care including post-anesthesia monitoring, airway/pain/nausea management, discharge teaching, and transfer coordination Document all care per
HIPAA, IHS
