Job Description

Category Schools - RN Nurse Job Type Contract Step into a meaningful contract role supporting students' well-being throughout the academic year. As a dedicated school nurse based onsite in an engaging educational setting near Shiprock, NM, you'll play a vital part in fostering a healthy learning environment from August 6, 2026, to May 27, 2027. With two positions available and placement within the district (specific sites to be determined), you'll join a collaborative team focused on student health and success. Your experience with school health procedures, discretion handling sensitive information, and ability to advocate for student needs will be highly valued. You'll utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate health concerns, all while building communication bridges among students, families, faculty, and community partners.
Qualifications and Experience:
Associate's, Bachelor's, or higher in Nursing Current Registered Nurse license issued by the New Mexico Board of Nursing Active Professional School Nurse License from the State of New Mexico Experience with school health policies and confidential information preferred Strong communication, assessment, and advocacy skills
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver comprehensive health services for students in alignment with state regulations Conduct confidential health assessments and interventions Participate in planning, implementing, and evaluating the school's health program Address student health concerns including social, physical, and psychological factors that impact learning Maintain effective communication with students, families, staff, medical providers, and local community resources This onsite contract position offers a consistent, full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week, providing you the opportunity to make a direct and sustained impact on student wellness in a rewarding educational setting.
