ASSESSMENT
The registered nurse completes initial patient assessment and reassessments as indicated by patient condition, and assures practices comply with human resources, policies/procedures, and professional standards.
CRITICAL THINKING
The registered nurse demonstrates critical thinking by implementing the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation) and using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems, and assures practices comply with human resources, policies/procedures, and professional standards.
PHYSICAL ABILITIES
The registered nurse has the physical ability to safely and effectively care for patient population assigned and assures practices comply with human resources, policies/procedures, and professional standards.
MEDICATION ADMINISTRATION
The registered nurse manages medication administration and intravenous (IV) access according to physician's orders and assures practices comply with human resources, policies/procedures, and professional standards.
DOCUMENTATION
The registered nurse documents nursing care and patient status in accordance with the nursing process and assures practices comply with human resources, policies/procedures, and professional standards.
COMMUNICATION
The registered nurse has communication abilities sufficient to promote patient and family centered care by interacting with patients, families, and care-delivery team in verbal and written form and assures practices comply with human resources, policies/procedures, and professional standards. Job Requirements Required One (1) year of general operating room experience as an RN or hospital approved peri-operative course. May consider anyexperience in an ASC (ambulatory surgery centers) where procedures are performed that have the same acuity level or level of complexity as an acute care facility. Technical School Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

NV Basic Life Support - CPR Advanced Cardiac Life Support Pediatric Advanced Life Support Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.
