Job Description

Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Make an impact in a unique educational setting supporting an elementary student in need of dedicated care. This full-time contract role is tailored for a skilled RN who excels in providing individualized support and thrives in a rural school environment near Las Vegas, NV. You'll work exclusively on-site, serving as a 1:1 nurse for a student with complex medical needs, including tracheostomy, ventilator, and G-tube management.
Key Qualifications:
Current, unencumbered RN license Active CPR/BLS certification Experience with pediatric nursing, particularly in a school or similar setting Proficiency in caring for students requiring trach, vent, and G-tube support Strong communication and collaboration skills with multidisciplinary educational teams Commitment to full-time, on-site attendance—teletherapy and hybrid options are not available Willingness to commute to a rural campus; verifying location fit is essential
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver consistent, individualized nursing care for a kindergarten student during school hours Monitor and manage the student's trach, ventilator, and G-tube as part of daily routine Collaborate closely with school staff, special education professionals, and the student's home health nurse to ensure seamless and safe transitions Maintain accurate, up-to-date medical documentation in alignment with IEP requirements and district protocols Participate in case meetings and contribute medical expertise to the ongoing evaluation of student needs This rewarding opportunity offers the chance to truly make a difference—delivering specialized medical care in a school community where your presence is valued and vital.
