Job Description

Category Schools - RN Nurse Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact this summer as a Registered Nurse in a supportive educational setting. This opportunity involves providing dedicated 1:1 care for a kindergarten student managing diabetes during a Summer Special Education Program. The program runs from July 6, 2026, to August 14, 2026, Monday through Friday, from 8:15am to 11:30am. For nurses who make a great fit, the assignment will renew for the following school year, extending from September 8, 2026, to June 24, 2027, with hours Monday through Friday from 9:15am to 3:45pm. What We're Seeking:

NYS-licensed Registered Nurse Experience in school nursing or pediatric care preferred Familiarity with diabetes care and management (insulin monitoring, carb counting, emergency response) Strong communication skills to collaborate with educators, parents, and support staff Clinical documentation proficiency Ability to respond swiftly to medical needs in a school setting Compassionate, detail-oriented, and reliable

Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 nursing care for a student with diabetes, ensuring her safety and well-being Monitor blood glucose levels and administer insulin as prescribed Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and administrators regarding the student's needs and care plan Maintain accurate health records and follow school policies regarding medication and emergencies Support the student's participation in classroom activities and field trips In this contract position, you will receive competitive hourly pay between $40 and $50, reflecting your skills and commitment.
