Job Description
Job Summary The Bay Shore School District is seeking a qualified and compassionate Registered Nurse to serve as a School Nurse. The Successful candidate will provide health services to students and staff, promote student wellness, and ensure compliance with New York State Health Regulations. Responsibilities Provide nursing care, first aid, and emergency treatment to students and staff. Administer medications and maintain student health records. Conduct vision, hearing and scoliosis screenings. Assist with physical examinations and health assessments. Monitor immunization compliance and required state health reporting. Collaborate with parents, physicians, teachers and support staff regarding student health needs. Participate in student support meetings , including IEP and 504 planning. Support school safety, emergency preparedness, and health-related initiatives. Experience Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing. Strong communication and organization skills and the ability to work collaboratively . Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with nursing best practices. School nursing experience preferred but not required.
