$55 - $60/hrPosition Summary:
Children's Aid runs a summer day camp in Chappaqua, NY that brings together children from Manhattan, the Bronx, and Westchester. Campers and staff are bused to and from the camp each day. The purpose of this camp is to provide traditional summer camp activities (swimming, arts & crafts, sports, horsemanship, etc.) in the context of relationship building. The children who attend this camp are from different socio-economic, cultural, and racial backgrounds, and range in age from 6-13. The Camp Nurse provides all the health care on campus for the campers and staff. They will manage any medication administration, whether physician-prescribed or over-the-counter, and assesses the health status of any camper or staff as needed.Essential Duties:
Understand and promote the organization's Mission, Vision, and Core Values to ensure alignment with organizational polices and procedures. Review all the medicals of the campers for medical alerts and special conditions. Provide assessment of and health care for injuries or illnesses. Provide all first aid and care appropriate for an RN that is necessary to address any injury or illness that occurs at the camp. Make recommendations for further medical care for campers whose illnesses or injuries cannot be addressed at the camp. Manage the storage and administration of all physician-prescribed and over-the-counter medications at the camp. Maintain the Medical Log for all services provided to campers and staff. Maintain the Medication Log for all medications administered to campers and staff. Perform all health tasks necessary to provide care for campers, especially the developmentally delayed campers, i.e., catheterization, etc. Maintain the Infirmary in an orderly fashion. Camp Nurse must remain on campus for the duration of the shift or program. Fulfill any other health-related job activities important to the success of the camp.Minimum Qualifications:
Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) with the State of New York. Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant qualify for the highest rate. Proof of professional insurance required. Must have a CPR certification of a year or less. RTE Certificate. Experience with children with developmental disabilities. Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant qualify for the highest rate.
