General Med/Surg Telemetry Unit Nurse-to-Patient Ratio:

Typically 6:1 Common Patient Diagnoses GI (Gastrointestinal) Conditions Cardiac Conditions (non-intensive drips) Renal Conditions Confusion & Altered Mental Status Common Drips Heparin Lasix Occasional Morphine for comfort care/palliative patients Patients requiring higher-acuity cardiac drips are transferred to SCU or ICU as appropriate.
