Job Description

Join a Surgical Team Where Your Skills Truly Matter We re looking for an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with surgical expertise to support a high-performing operating room team. This is a hands-on role ideal for clinicians who enjoy being actively involved in procedures while also contributing to patient care across the full surgical continuum. Schedule & Compensation Shift:
11:00 AM 7:00
PM Pay Range:
$55/hr $70/hr Key Responsibilities In the Operating Room Assist surgeons with critical procedural tasks, including tissue handling, suturing, and maintaining visibility of the surgical field Support bleeding control through appropriate techniques and tools Contribute to advanced surgical cases, including minimally invasive and robotic procedures Provide suctioning, irrigation, and real-time procedural support Patient Care & Coordination Review patient histories and surgical plans to ensure readiness Partner with RNs and surgical techs to coordinate care and workflow Monitor patient status intraoperatively under physician direction Participate in post-procedure care, including wound management and recovery transitions Surgical Preparation & Safety Ensure all instruments, supplies, and sterile fields are properly prepared Assist with patient positioning, prepping, and draping Maintain strict adherence to aseptic technique and safety protocols Verify instrument and sponge counts to support patient safety standards Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program One of the following required: Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant (CRNFA) Physician Assistant (NCCPA certified) Nurse Practitioner with surgical certification Minimum of 2 years in a surgical or operating room environment Scrub experience preferred Core Competencies Strong understanding of surgical procedures, anatomy, and instrumentation Excellent technical skill, including dexterity and coordination Sound clinical judgment and ability to adapt quickly in complex situations Effective communicator with a collaborative mindset Work Environment Fast-paced surgical setting with exposure to standard operating room conditions Extended periods of standing and use of surgical attire required Flexibility for on-call shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Benefits Package $10,000 sign-on bonus 401(k) with employer match Medical, dental, and vision benefits starting the 1st of the month after 30 days 24 days of paid time off in your first year Long-term disability and life insurance options Atlas Search is a tri-state area recruitment agency, connecting new graduates, Advanced Practice Providers, Physicians and Nurse Leaders to hospitals, clinics, multi-specialty groups, nursing homes, managed care companies, private practices, and healthcare start-ups.
