Setting:
Short Term Acute Care Hospital. This position requires cross-unit float coverage across multiple inpatient units and includes rotations on weekends and holidays, with two on-call shifts every four weeks.

Setting:
Short Term Acute Care Hospital Cross-training across med/surg, ICU, ER, MS, MST with float coverage; EOW/holidays rotations and 2 on-call shifts per 4 weeks Responsibilities Provide direct, compassionate nursing care across multiple units as a float RN, including medical/surgical, ICU, ER, telemetry/step-down, and observation units Perform comprehensive assessments, monitor patient status, administer medications, manage IV therapy, and adjust care plans in collaboration with the care team Respond to acute changes, initiate appropriate interventions, and escalate to physicians as needed Document in the electronic medical record, maintain accurate patient records, and ensure patient safety, privacy, and comfort Deliver age-appropriate care for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients; monitor growth and development considerations as applicable Adhere to infection prevention, safety protocols, and evidence-based practice; contribute to a collaborative and respectful team environment
Requirements Licensure:
Current New York State RN license
Education:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
Certifications:
BLS, ACLS, and PALS through American Heart Association or RQI Other certifications: NIHSS; Basic Coronary Care certification within 6 months of hire; CPI certification within 90 days of hire
Experience:
Minimum 1 year of experience in Med/Surg, Telemetry, or Critical Care settings
Additional:
Must be cross-trained for multi-unit float coverage and able to float to
ICU/ER/MS/MST
