Job Description
Job Summary Join our dedicated team as a Private Duty Nurse (PDN), providing exceptional, personalized nursing care to individuals in their homes or community settings. As a PDN, you will deliver comprehensive patient care tailored to each client's unique needs, ensuring safety, comfort, and improved quality of life. This role offers an energetic and rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference by supporting patients with complex medical conditions, including those requiring long-term care, acute interventions, or specialized therapies. Your expertise will help foster independence and promote health in a compassionate, patient-centered environment. Duties Deliver direct nursing care to patients across various settings, including home, assisted living, and community environments. Administer medications Conduct thorough patient assessments, vital sign monitoring, and physical examinations to inform ongoing care plans. Manage complex medical procedures such as catheterization, tube feeding, wound suturing, and ventilator management. Maintain accurate medical documentation ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations Provide education and health coaching to patients and families about disease management, medication administration, and lifestyle modifications. Requirements Valid nursing license with current registration; experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN). Critical care experience in settings such as ICU, emergency room, trauma centers (Level I or II), or hospital medicine strongly preferred. Demonstrated expertise in medical-surgical nursing, geriatrics, dementia care (including Alzheimer's and memory care), and pediatric or neonatal ventilator management. Knowledge of
ICD-9/ICD-10
coding systems for accurate medical records and billing processes. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs is highly valued. Ability to perform venipuncture, phlebotomy, sterile techniques, medication administration—including injections—and aseptic procedures. Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, infection control practices, and emergency response protocols such as airway management and basic life support (BLS). Excellent patient assessment skills combined with compassionate communication to support diverse populations across home & community care environments.
