Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Registered Nurse at the Digestive Disease Center of Central New York! In this vital role, you will deliver exceptional patient care, coordinate procedures, and support individuals with a range of gastrointestinal conditions. Your expertise will help improve patient outcomes and enhance their overall experience. We are seeking energetic, detail-oriented nurses who thrive in fast-paced environments and are passionate about making a difference in patients' lives. This paid position offers opportunities for professional growth and meaningful engagement within a collaborative healthcare setting. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures related to digestive health, including endoscopies, colonoscopies, and other minimally invasive interventions. Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history review, and physical examinations to inform treatment plans. Administer medications accurately while adhering to aseptic techniques and safety standards. Support patient education on pre- and post-procedure care, such as dietary restrictions, medication management, and lifestyle modifications. Collaborate closely with physicians, anesthesia providers, technicians, and support staff utilizing EMR Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times. Assist in laboratory specimen collection, processing, and documentation to facilitate accurate diagnostic evaluation. Qualifications Valid nursing license with current registration in the applicable state. Valid BLS certification Proven experience in medical-surgical units or hospital settings; endoscopy experience is highly valued. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for efficient documentation. Experience working in diverse clinical environments such as outpatient clinics, inpatient units, emergency rooms, or specialty care centers like gastroenterology or is preferred. Strong understanding of medical terminology, physiology knowledge related to gastrointestinal health, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding for procedures, and infection control practices. Excellent communication skills for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Pay:
$32.00 - $36.00 per hour
