Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Registered Nurse with a specialization in Assisted Living Programs (ALP) to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to residents in assisted living settings, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. Your expertise will support the delivery of high-quality patient care, promote independence, and enhance the overall quality of life for our residents. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors and individuals with disabilities through compassionate, skilled nursing. Duties Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations to determine individual care needs. Administer medications and injections accurately following prescribed protocols while maintaining detailed medical documentation compliant with HIPAA standards. Manage IV infusions, catheter care, tube feeding, and ventilator support to ensure optimal patient comfort and safety. Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic or Cerner for documentation of medical records, treatment plans, and progress notes. Conduct diagnostic evaluations including laboratory specimen collection/processing, medical imaging coordination, and basic life support during emergencies. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on discharge planning, case management, and utilization review to optimize patient outcomes. Supervise nursing staff and assist with team management activities to maintain high standards of care within the facility. Implement infection control procedures and aseptic techniques to prevent healthcare-associated infections. Assist with specialized care such as dementia care, memory care, behavioral health management, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Provide patient education on health coaching, medication administration, nutrition, and disease management tailored to geriatrics and senior care populations. Experience Valid RN licensure with current state registration required. Critical care experience preferred; ICU or Level I Trauma Center experience highly desirable. Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or long-term care settings is essential. Experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth is required for efficient documentation. Demonstrated proficiency in IV insertion, phlebotomy, catheterization, suturing, and sterile processing techniques. Knowledge of
ICD-9/ICD-10
coding systems for accurate medical documentation and billing purposes. Background in acute care environments including hospital medicine or emergency medicine enhances your ability to respond swiftly in urgent situations. Supervisory or nurse management experience is advantageous for leadership responsibilities within the team. Familiarity with pediatric (including neonatal ventilator) and adult patient populations across medical-surgical units is beneficial. Strong understanding of physiology knowledge, anatomy knowledge, pain management strategies, airway management skills including ventilator support are essential for comprehensive patient care.
