Category Schools - RN Nurse Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity as a Registered Nurse supporting individuals in vibrant school-based and community environments near Newburgh, NY. Two openings are available, each offering a unique scope of practice and the chance to make a meaningful difference across residential and day habilitation programs. Your clinical expertise and commitment to holistic care are essential in delivering quality health oversight, advocating for students and participants, and ensuring compliance with established standards.
Qualifications & Experience Sought:
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required Prior experience in school nursing, residential, or day habilitation settings highly valued Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and case management skills Familiarity with medication administration and follow-up protocols Effective communicator, comfortable collaborating with staff, families, and interdisciplinary teams Ability to organize caseloads and adapt to varying age groups and needs
What You'll Do:
Oversee health management and coordinate care for assigned caseloads Contribute to Annual Life Plan Meetings, partnering with team members and families Perform medication administration follow-up, ensuring staff compliance and safe practices Accurately document in Med Books and uphold timely, thorough records in line with regulatory standards Act as a resource and liaison for the community, addressing health concerns and supporting program initiatives Monitor and respond to evolving health needs among participants
Available Roles & Scheduling:
Residential Registered Nurse:
Itinerant role with a flexible, 40-hour Monday-Friday schedule
Day Habilitation Registered Nurse:
Monday-Friday, 7:45 AM - 3:30 PM, for a total of 36.25 hours weekly Both contract roles run from July 6, 2026, through June 26, 2027 Take the next step in your nursing journey where your expertise, compassion, and dedication are valued every day.
