Horizon Healthcare Staffing is seeking compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurses (RNs) with experience in working with individuals with developmental disabilities for a rewarding opportunity in Niagara Falls, NY. As an RN with experience in OPWDD (Office for People With Developmental Disabilities), you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring their well-being and enhancing their overall quality of life.
Responsibilities:
Assess and evaluate the medical and healthcare needs of individuals with developmental disabilities. Develop and implement individualized care plans (ICPs) in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to meet the specific needs of each individual. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring safety and compliance. Monitor and document the health status and progress of individuals regularly, making appropriate adjustments to care plans as needed. Provide education and support to individuals and their families regarding health management and self-care techniques. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, therapists, and support staff to ensure a holistic and comprehensive approach to care. Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation.
Qualifications:
Valid and active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license. Experience in working with individuals with developmental disabilities, preferably in an OPWDD setting. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with individuals, families, and a diverse healthcare team. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities in managing complex healthcare needs. Ability to work independently and collaboratively, providing compassionate and patient-centered care.
